We based our colony on Green DeWitt
- Visited Texas in 1824, afterward he went to the capital Saltillo of Coahuila and Texas.
- The second petition with the support of Stephen F. Austin was granted in 1825.
- Given permission to settle 400 catholic families on the Guadalupe River.
- Green DeWitt made a peace treaty with the Karankawa and Tonkawa tribes with the help of De Leon and Moses Austin. This helped the colony become secure and safe from raids.

- 1828- 11 families and 27 single men, 1829 30 families and 34 single men, 1830 56 families and 65 single men, 1831 166 families.
- The immigrants were required to be Roman Catholic, and foreigners were expected to learn Spanish. Newcomers must report to any Spanish Authority for permission to settle.
- On April 1, 1831 he had settled 531 people which was also 166 families. This was the colony’s peak population, which failed his contract.
